Process

Research collection phase. I thoroughly researched my topic and categorized my data. I put the information that I saw as the most important to include in the infographic in bold.

A visual system I put together to give me better direction before starting the iterative process. I wanted my colors to be dark but have sufficient contrast, which is why I used yellow for my callouts and text.

I played with placement of the elements a lot before settling down on this more finalized placement.

I changed the color to a darker beige to make my lighter text stand out more. I ended up with a much darker color for my final infographic.
Final
I changed the background to a much darker theme to bring out more contrast in my information and visual elements. I wanted my timeline to capture the essence of blood droplets falling into a bloody river below and further emphasized the concept by adding images of the innocent miners who faced the brutality of this time. I digitally drew all my graphic elements and brought them into Illustrator when putting my final together.
